My LaPortes in Manitoba are only a very small
branch of the extensive family which has descended from our common
ancestor Jacques de la Porte who came to Canada in the early 1600's.

The task of
documenting all the descendants in the 400 years that have passed is beyond my abilities so I'll skip on to the late 1800's to
